Guaiac wood (Guaiacum officinale)
Guaiacum officinale is a tree in the yoke-leaf family that occurs in the Caribbean, South America and Central America. It is a small, evergreen, slow-growing tree with a dense crown that grows to a height of about 10-12 metres and has a very hard wood.
When smoked, guaiac has a warm, spicy fragrance and is characterised by stimulating and lustful properties. It is a strong aphrodisiac and can also be smoked for colds.
