Thor fought the enemies of the gods and humans with this magical weapon, especially the Thursen and the Midgardschlage. Mjölnir has the function of a weapon, an instrument of consecration, protection and healing. Norse mythology sees the Thor's hammer as a symbol of keeping chaos away and maintaining divine order. In all ceremonies, be it birth, wedding, the blessing of a field and probably also at funerals, Mjölnir carries the character of keeping the world in its joints.
